About Ellen's Home Day Care

I started my daycare business twenty years ago because I absolutely love being around young children!  I am passionate about providing families with a safe and loving environment for their children to develop and grow.

As a committed early childhood educator, my purpose is to make children feel comfortable, happy, safe, nurtured and loved while in my home.

The children provides me endless opportunities for self-expression of love, understanding, patience, warmth, creativity, fun and simple joy. Taking care of children is hard work, but they truly spice up my life and keep me feeling young at heart.

I'm licensed to care for up to ten children in my daycare from newborn to 3 years old; I am very excited to meet new families and to provide their children with quality care in my home!

Ellen believes that providing a positive and nurturing environment will instill lessons that will last a lifetime!

As an avid practitioner of play-based learning, she is always looking for fun themed activities, games and crafts that will be interesting for infants and toddlers using a lot of materials that is readily available around the house. She also uses Funshine Express buttercups curriculum for themed arts and crafts designed for ages one to three years old. With a background in Business Administration and long-time business owner, Ellen runs her daycare with a healthy mix of flexibility and the predictable structure that children thrive on.

She likes to spend her free time with her two sons and husband traveling to different places, cooking healthy foods, trying international cuisines and watching movies together as a family.

Jane is passionate about young children!  She is very dedicated, loving and always put safety first as the most important consideration when dealing with children. She helps Ellen implement all planned activities and identifies ways to make sure that everything runs smoothly as possible.  Jane is highly organized and disciplined with implementing routines and scheduled activities yet flexible enough to go with the flow of ever changing moods of all the children in their care.

As a former physical education teacher in China –Jane has about years of diverse experience in both daycare and school settings. She likes to spend her free time exploring New England with her husband, Jason, and two lovely daughters, ages 15 &  11 yrs old,

"Ellen is a sweet, fun, and incredibly studious childcare provider for our daughter, Ellie. Ellen and Jane provide a nurturing, play-based experience for their children and we are so fortunate for her. Ellie started spending two days a week with Ellen when she was 9 months old and is now a year and a half. I’m grateful that every day that she is with Ellen she has a loving and stimulating time (and a nap :)"

"At 3.5 months, my baby girl, Clara, started at Ellen’s home day care full-time. Upon first meeting Ellen and visiting her home, I had wonderful and positive feelings. Ellen’s home is very clean, and she is incredibly organized. Her assistant Jane also do an amazing job. So far, they all have helped Clara with tummy time, sitting up, starting on solids, and making her first baby friends. Clara has a smile on her face in photos and when I pick her up. Ellen is very caring and communicates well. The imaginative crafts and activities she sets up each week for the children are incredibly creative. I would recommend Ellen and her staff to anyone looking for a warm and nurturing environment for their growing baby."

"Ellen’s Daycare is absolutely amazing! Ellen provides a wholesome, clean, and safe environment for the kids. She is extremely thorough and thoughtful and constantly finds creative ways to engage the kids. We initially had our son in a bigger daycare, and from day 1, it didn’t feel like the right fit. I was SO grateful to have found Ellen’s soon after. From the very start, Ellen kept me informed of what was going on throughout the day, how our son was adjusting, etc., which was so helpful as a first-time mom. Within just a few days, our kiddo was happily going off with Ellen and her staff. Ellen and Jane both take their time with the kiddos, and I saw that countless times with my son, particularly when it came to feeding him solids. Our son comes home happy each day singing songs and telling me about his day. Finding Ellen’s has been a huge blessing. My husband and I feel confident that our son is being cared for and loved. It honestly feels like we’re dropping him off with family."

Couldn't say enough good things about Ellen's home daycare. It's a loving and nurturing place for the little ones to grow. Ellen and her staff are very caring, attentive and responsive. They not only care about the kids, but also the parents being like a family. My son had so much fun and enjoyed Ellen's home day care a lot. I highly recommend Ellen's place for your childcare need if you are in the Acton area, and wish you good luck in finding a spot there.

"Abby’s entry into Ellen’s Home Daycare this past year was a bright spot amid a stressful move and chaotic year. Our daughter has thrived in the few months she’s been there. Hers speech has improved, she’s more outgoing and she’s such a big helper with the little ones. And that is all thanks to Ellen and Jane I am impressed by the level of care and dedication these women provide, and parents get to see it all happen as it unfolds throughout the day! The app lets us see what the children are working on and documents what our child is doing in terms of naps, eating, etc. It’s a great way to communicate and reassures us that our children are having fun while away from home. I’ve gotten to know Ellen over the past few months and appreciate the warm and nurturing person that she is. I will miss her when Abby moves on to preschool in a few months but would highly recommend Ellen’s Home Daycare to anyone looking for the organization of a center with the more personalized attention of an in-home daycare."
